Raising Money For:

UWSP Lemon Club is the local, all-volunteer, student-run chapter of the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). Alex’s Lemonade Stand is changing the lives of children with cancer by funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer.

From hosting stands and events to joining the One Cup at a Time Club, everyone can make a difference and help find cures for childhood cancer.

For the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists. Over the past 35 years, Be The Match ® , operated by the National Marrow Donor Program ®  (NMDP), has managed the most diverse bone marrow registry in the world. We work every day to save lives through transplant.

A top concern among cancer survivors is the difficulty of returning to physical activity after treatment. We wanted to change that. In 2007 LiveStrong partnered with the YMCA to create a free 12-week physical activity program designed to help cancer survivors who have become de-conditioned and fatigued from their treatment and/or disease. It improves energy level and self esteem, builds muscle mass and strength, increases flexibility and endurance, and improves survivors’ ability to do everyday tasks.

We found that participants experienced significant increases in physical activity, overall quality of life, and fitness performance.
